CBD Day: Celebrate August 8th!

Heart made of CBD Cannabis flowers

August 8th is World CBD Day, a special date dedicated to recognizing and promoting the benefits of CBD. Cannabis is an extraordinary plant, whose sophistication defies our understanding, no matter how many studies are carried out. Beyond a simple molecule, CBD represents a revolution in natural wellness, gaining increasing prominence in fields such as health, sports, and conscious self-care.

Cannabis is an extraordinary plant, deeply complex. Its richness in active compounds, its interaction with the human endocannabinoid system, and its enormous therapeutic versatility make it one of the most fascinating plant organisms of our time. Its sophistication continues to defy our understanding.

Celebrating this plant is also recognizing the ancestral link between nature and humanity, and opening the door to a more respectful, sustainable, and balanced future. As every year, at Cannactiva, we celebrate August 8th by preparing incredible discounts on the best quality CBD. Enjoy CBD!

History and Origin of World CBD Day

World CBD Day was established to raise awareness of cannabidiol (CBD), a natural compound derived from the cannabis plant that has shown tremendous potential to improve people’s quality of life.

Although the cannabis plant has been known and used since time immemorial, the prohibitionist trend of the last century has greatly limited the research and use of both CBD and other types of cannabinoids. Fortunately, it has been possible to research and discover some of the medicinal properties of CBD.

On CBD Day, we want to give CBD as well as other components of cannabis the importance it deserves. Communication, education and research are key to understanding all that the cannabis plant has to offer.

Benefits of CBD

CBD is a very versatile compound, with numerous known applications, from which a variety of products are derived: from CBD edibles to oils, flowers, resins and vaporization products.

Among its main benefits are:

  • Pain relief and anti-inflammatory
  • Anxiety and stress reduction
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Other benefits: Research suggests CBD’s potential in the treatment of conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, autism and other conditions.

Ecological benefits of hemp

In addition to its therapeutic benefits, cannabis, particularly hemp, has a positive impact on the environment:

  • Sustainability: Hemp grows quickly and requires less water than many other crops, including cotton. It produces three times more fiber in the same area and does not require the use of pesticides, making it a very environmentally friendly textile fiber.
  • Soil Improvement: Growing hemp helps improve soil quality through phytoremediation, removing toxins and restoring nutrients. It has been used at contaminated sites such as Chernobyl with good results.
  • CO2 absorption: Hemp is a plant that captures a large amount of carbon dioxide, helping to combat climate change.
  • Biodegradable Products: Hemp can be used to make paper, biodegradable plastics, clothing and building materials, reducing our dependence on petroleum products. Hemp biopolymers (bioplastics) can be used for three years and degrade in as little as 80 days.
  • Hempcrete (hemp cement) is a lightweight, fire- and mold-resistant bio-construction material with excellent insulating properties.
  • Wood substitute: Hemp produces the same amount of fiber as four hectares of trees in only 100 days. Hemp composites are a sustainable alternative to wood.
  • Biofuels: Hemp can be used to produce biofuels, offering a more sustainable alternative to gasoline with less environmental impact.
  • Hemp Food: Hemp seeds are a superfood, rich in protein, essential fatty acids and minerals. Hemp oil is considered one of the healthiest oils.
  • Hemp FabricsHighly resistant and versatile fabrics can be produced, used in clothing, shoes, bags and more.
  • Animal Fodder: Hemp can be used as fodder, providing a nutritious feed source for animals.

Beyond the therapeutic benefits of CBD

The benefits of CBD and hemp go beyond their therapeutic use and productivity. Science, in its attempt to measure and pigeonhole nature into a mold, often fails to capture its true essence. Cannabis, in general, is an incredible plant whose sophistication defies human understanding, no matter how many scientific studies are carried out.

Let us stop for a moment to look around us and reflect. We live in a caffeinated society, where coffee consumption has become a daily act and even a social ritual. Caffeine is often seen as a tool to improve performance and productivity at work, offices are equipped with coffee machines, and many employees start their workday with a cup of coffee.

Like all substances, coffee has its usefulness, but also its right measure. The excess of coffee and the obsession with productivity affect us and can cause altered moods, irritability, sleep problems, worsen anxiety and digestive disorders. What would happen if this society opened its mind and heart to cannabis, and all it has to offer?

Perhaps the time has come to rediscover the cannabis plant and open up to all it has to offer. Perhaps it is no coincidence that cannabis is being legalized in neighboring countries right now.

CBD is a natural option with much to teach the coffee society. In addition, we know that there is a greener future, with hemp as the protagonist. Discover everything cannabis has to offer you, celebrate CBD Day!
